The North Butte Mining Company of Butte, Montana, was incorporated in 1905 April by Charles A. Duncan, Louis W. Powell, and Joseph B. Cotton. The company bought the properties of the Speculator Mining Company in 1905 June. In its first year, the North Butte Mining Company produced over 30 million pounds of copper.
