This collection provides election data at the district level for state legislative races contested in the United States in 1993 and 1994. General election returns for all 50 states are included, as well as special election returns, if they were provided as part of the official returns for the states. Data consist of district-level returns for all major and minor political parties that contested seats in state legislatures, including individual candidate vote totals, total number of votes cast for all candidates in an election, total votes for each of the major parties (Democratic and Republican) and "other" vote totals, each candidate's percentage of the vote, and several measures comparing a candidate's performance with that of his or her rivals.
