Rene L. Rothschild (1903-1981) was born in Greeley, Colorado, to Isidor Rothschild (1861-1922) and Cora Levy (1876-1922). He died in Sacramento, California.
Summary
Typescript copy of biography, unsigned, of Isidor Rothschild by Rene L. Rothschild, 1980. Biography includes notes on life in Greeley, Colorado; on Isidor Rothschild’s investments and enterprises; and on trips to Yellowstone National Park, California and Oregon, and Texas. There is also a typescript copy, unsigned, of a diary of a Colorado journey taken by Isidor Rothschild in 1893, and a typescript copy, unsigned, of a diary kept by Isidor Rothschild while bicycling through Yellowstone National Park in 1894. Also present is correspondence between Rene L. Rothschild and David H. Wallace, acting archivist for the National Park Service, concerning the NPS’s interest in the 1894 diary and eventual purchase of the original, 1972 March 6-May 30.
