Seven of the cards depict a boy in blue Elizabethan dress, holding a sprig of dogwood, beneath the word "Programme." A larger branch of dogwood, with pink flowers, fills the remainder of the panel. Five of the cards are identical to this design, except that the boy is replaced by a girl in purple Elizabethan dress. The girl holds a flower basked in her left hand and raises a red flower to her face with her right hand.

Accompanying the 12 cards depicting the boy and girl are an additional 12 cards depicting a spring of dogwood with white flowers, against a gold circle. The two sets of 12 are clearly meant to be paired, as a border of gold and red connects them. The exact purpose of the cards is ambiguous. Perhaps they were intended to be hinged together (with decorative tape?) to form a simple booklet describing entertainments (such as children's theatricals), with the blank interior to be completed in manuscript.
