Biographical / Historical Note
Veazie Wilson (1865-1895) of Cherryfield, Maine, photographed Fort Wrangell and Juneau, Alaska, as well as the Yukon Territory in Canada circa 1894. In 1895, Wilson died of typhoid fever; his guidebook attracting potential miners to the Alaska region (Esther Lyons' Glimpses of Alaska: a collection of views of the interior of Alaska and the Klondike district from photographs by Veazie Wilson, Rand, McNally, 1897) was published posthumously.
