Summary
Dominique Delouche filmed this 1999 portrait of Maya Plisetskaya, the dancer, the woman, the teacher, the iconoclast, through her own narration (in Russian), performance footage and coaching sessions with dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet. Excerpts from Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake and Bolero, demonstrate Plisetskaya's awesome technique and her distinctive style that has often been imitated but never duplicated. With Maurice Béjart, Vladimir Vasiliev, Marie-Agnès Gillot; Céline Talon, Yann Saïz.
