Summary
This program explores the shape of the earth, its rotation on its axis, and its revolution around the sun. Students will develop an understanding of day and night and the different seasons. Animations illustrate how the moon revolves around the earth, resulting in different phases of the moon. Other terminology includes: axis, rotation, revolution, compass, auroras, northern lights, magnetic field, winter and summer solstice, spring and autumnal equinox, moon, waxing, waning, full and new moon, first and last quarter.
