Scrapbook that documents an automobile trip by Glenn Irving Davis, Elizabeth Adkisson Davis, and Daisy Lorena Brooks Davis from Greenville, Texas , to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, April 22-May 2, 1925. Their route in Texas, which they plotted on road maps and manuscript maps in white crayon in the scrapbook, traveled southerly through McKinney, Denton, Brownwood, Fredricksburg, and San Antonio, then northwest to Mason, Big Springs, Van Horn, and El Paso. After arriving in Ciudad Juárez on May 1, 1925, they returned eastward to Greenville through Big Springs.
Items in the scrapbook include 57 clippings of text and relief halftone pictures as well as pieces of ephemera and 32 photographic prints created by the travelers related to sites along the route. The items have captions in white crayon that describe bridges, businesses, hotels, missions, parks, railroad depots, and street views along the route as well as a series of photographs that document bridges damaged by flash floods.
The scrapbook includes two booklets:one about Fredricksburg, Texas, published by the Fredricksburg Chamber of Commerce, and the other about El Paso, Texas, published by the Hotel Paso del Norte. The scrapbook also includes a small packet of copper ore from the smelting plant at El Paso.
