Summary
Seymour Lichtenfeld served in the army from 1943 to 1945 as a rifleman with the 422nd Infantry Regiment, 106th Infantry Division. During the Battle of the Bulge he was taken prisoner and was a POW until being liberated by Russian forces in the spring of 1945. Lichtenfeld returned to the United States after the war and was discharged in late 1945 with the rank of corporal.
