Summary
Donald G. Watson served as a truck driver with the 271st Engineer Combat Battalion, 71st Infantry Division in Europe. He landed in France, went past the Siegfried Line and the Rhine River delving into Austria. Watson's division liberated Gunskirchen and began occupation duty. When his tour of duty was completed, Watson returned to the United States and was discharged from the Army with the rank of sergeant.
