Moss M. Nash (1858-1933) was born in Martinsburg, New York on June 1, 1858. In the 1880s Nash lived in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and finally Ohio, where he worked as a machinist until his death in 1933.

7 manuscript letters from an unidentified writer, identified only as "Will," to his friend Moss M. Nash in New York, 1879 April-November. "Will" describes his life in Denver and Fort Collins, Colorado, where he worked as a cook on a ranch, a painter, a road construction worker, a cattle herder, and a clerk in a general store. He describes life in Colorado, including the quality of the food and water, hunting, his social life, and entertainment in Denver and Fort Collins, including theaters and gambling. "Will" asks Nash for news about family and mutual friends and encourages Nash to move to Colorado. He also discusses his plans to move to Arizona, New Mexico, or Leadville, Colorado. Includes 1 photograph of Tedmon House, a hotel in Fort Collins.
