These terriers detail the lands and properties, as well as related rents and tenant relations, of the seigneury of Goincet, particularly those in "Goincel" (Grand-Goincet) and "Les Ecloses," both near Poncins, and "Naconne" and "L'Isle," both near Cleppé. The initial terrier was compiled in 1357 by "Petrus Poerii clericus curiatus Forensis," the second terrier, an update of the first, was compiled by Johannes Charey, "notario," in 1411. Accordingly, they are sometimes referred to as "Terrier Poerri" and "Terrier Charey."
Annotations throughout provide modern place-names in French.
Two pages of 19th-century notes on paper tipped into start of manuscript provide table of contents for both terriers and definitions of the units of measurement used in the terriers.
Several leaves wanting, apparently without loss of text.
