Summary
Investment executive Napoleon Brandford III was born in East Chicago, Indiana, in 1952. After earning his B.A. degree from Purdue and his M.P.A. degree from the University of Southern California. When he had finished his education, Brandford worked in the Dade County Finance Department and, from there, he worked for Shearson/American Express. Brandford then helped form Grigsby Brandford & Company in 1985, which grew to become one of the largest investment banking firms in the country. In 1997, he helped form Siebert Brandford Shank, Inc., the nation's largest female- and minority-owned investment banking firm, where he served as chairman. Brandford was named by Ebony as a Young Tycoon in 1988. He was an active member on a number of boards and served as director of both the Western Region of the Boy Scouts of America, and of the NCAA Finance and Investment Committee. Brandford is married and lives in California.
