Summary
Two paintings in gouache by Maira Kalman for Gertrude Stein's The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas, 2019. One painting is titled Four Saints in Three Acts and depicts a scene from a performance of Virgil Thomson's opera of the same name, for which Stein wrote the libretto. The other painting is titled Room Full of Poets and depicts a scene of seated and standing men and women, including Stein and Toklas.
