Summary
"Volumes 44 to 51 of FO 605 provide detailed itemized information on the contents of the general correspondence found in FO 17 for the years 1815-1890. All relevant entries have been manually transcribed and used to create in-depth metadata for the FO 17 volumes, and the images of these selected FO 605 volumes are also made available here to researchers. The indexes themselves can be browsed and contain some entries for items that are not present in FO 17. Note that Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR) has not been applied to these volumes, so a search within this collection will only look at the volume titles and will not search the full-text. FO 605 represents the microform copies of the original indexes of FO 802, and is itself a historical record of this period in Southeast Asia and of British interests in the region"--Opening screen.
