Summary
The rise and fall - and rise - of a handsome scoundrel. Parliamentarian Alan Clark wormed his way into the public's affections with his withering, and often hilarious, observations about Britain's political classes in the 1980s and 1990s. Despite the controversy which constantly surrounded him - he was a notorious womaniser and was given to making inappropriate remarks in public - Clark swiftly rose up the Conservative party ranks.
