Incipit: "Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm, wa-ṣallá Allāh ʻalá Sayyidinā Muḥammad, wa-ālihi wa-ṣaḥbihi wa-sallam. Baynamā al-Nabī, ṣallá Allāh ʻalayhi wa-sallam, ʻinda al-Bayt, fī al-ḥujr, bayna al-nāyim wa-al-yaqẓān, muḍṭajiʻan bayna rajulayn, idh atāh Jibrīl wa-Mīkāyīl, wa-maʻahumā malak ākhar, fa-qāla awwaluhumā: Ayyuhum huwa. Fa-qāl: Awsaṭuhum huwa khayruhum. Fa-iḥtamalūhu, ḥattá jāʼū bi-hi Zamzam, fa-istalqawhu ʻalá ẓahrihi, fa-tawallāhu minhum Jibrīl, fa-shaqqa min thaghrihi naḥrahu ilá asfal baṭnihi. Thumma qāla Jibrīl li-Mīkāyīl: Ītinī bi-ṭisht min māʼ Zamzam kaymā uṭahhira qalbahu wa-ashraḥa ṣadrahu ..."
البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم، وصلّى الله على سيّدنا محمد، وآله وصحبه وسلّم. بينما النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، عند البيت، في الحجر، بين النايم واليقظان، مضطجعًا بين رجلين، إذ أتاه جبريل وميكاييل، ومعهما ملك آخر، فقال أولهما: أيّهم هو. فقال: أوسطهم هو خيرهم. فاحتملوه، حتى جاءوا به زمزم، فاستلقوه على ظهره، فتولّاه منهم جبريل، فشقّ من ثغره نحرَه إلى أسفل بطنه. ثم قال جبريل لميكاييل: إيتني بطشت من ماء زمزم كيما أطهّر قلبه وأشرح صدره ..."

On folio 1a: "Hādhihi nubdhah jalīlah li-Mawlānā al-ʻĀlim al-ʻallāmah Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad Najm al-Dīn al-Ghayṭī, taghammadahu Allāh bi-raḥmatih, wa-askanahu fasīḥ jannatih, wa-nafaʻanā Allāh bi-hi wa-[bi]barakāt ʻulumihi fī al-dunyā. Āmīn."
على وجه الورقة 1: "هذه نبذة جليلة لمولانا العالم العلامة شمس الدين محمد نجم الدين الغيطي، تغمّده الله برحمته، وأسكنه فسيح جنته، ونفعنا الله به و[بـ‍‍]بركات علمه في الدنيا. آمين."
On folio 1a: Two ownership statements: 1. "Mulk al-faqīr ilá Allāh taʻālá ʻAbd al-ʻAlīm [...] Aḥmad [...]." 2. "Mulk al-faqīr ilá Allāh taʻālá al-Shaykh al-ʻAllāmah [... ... ...]." And a "sanad" (chain of transmission), as follows: "Sanad Shaykhinā al-Shaykh al-Qalatī, fīhā al-Shaykh ʻAbd al-ʻa[...] ʻan al-ʻAdawī bi-sanadih."
On folio 1a: Four verses of poetry about babies who talked as infants, in the cradle: "Naẓama baʻḍuhum fī abyāt, fa-qāl: Takallama fī al-mahdi al-Nabīyu Muḥammadun // wa-Yaḥyā wa-ʻĪsá wa-al-Khalīlu wa-Maryamu ..."
على وجه الورقة 1: أربعة أبيان من الشعر، عن الأطفال الذين تكلّموا في المهد: "نظم بعضهم في أبيات، فقال: تكلّم في المهد النبيّ محمدٌ // ويحيا وعيسى والخليل ومريم ..."
Colophon: "Wa-Allāh aʻlam bi-al-ṣawāb, wa-ilayhi al-marjiʻ wa-al-maʼāb, wa-ṣallá Allāh ʻalá Sayyidinā Muḥammad, wa-ʻalá ālihi wa-ṣaḥbihi wa-sallama taslīman kathīran dāʼiman abadan, ilá Yawm al-Dīn." At the left of the colophon, in a different hand, probably the owner "ʻAbd al-ʻAlīm" mentioned above: "Kātibuhu, rājī tawbat Rabbihi al-Amjad, ʻAbd al-ʻAlīm Muḥammad Aḥmad."
الخاتمة: "والله أعلم بالصواب، وإليه المرجع والمآب، وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد، وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم تسليمًا كثيرًا دائمًا أبدًا، إلى يوم الدين." وإلى يسار الخاتمة، بخط مختلف، لعله للمالك "عبد العليم" المذكور آنفًا: "كاتبه، راجي توبة ربه الأمجد، عبد العليم محمد أحمد."
Translation of the colophon: "But God is more knowledgeable of what is correct, to Him is the reference and returning. May God pray on our Master Muḥammad, his family and his companions and grant them abundant, continuous, and perpetual peace until the Day of Judgement." At the left of the colophon, in a different hand, probably by the owner "ʻAbd al-ʻAlīm" mentioned above: "Written by him who aspires for repentance from his Glorious Lord, ʻAbd al-ʻAlīm Muḥammad Aḥmad."

Treatise on the "Isrāʼ and Miʻrāj", the night journey of the Prophet Muḥammad from Mecca to Jerusalem and his ascension into heaven, by Najm al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Ghayṭī (1504 or 1505-1573 or 1574), an Egyptian Shāfiʻī scholar. Name of copyist and place and date of copying not mentioned, probably from the 18th century.
