Incipit: "Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm. al-Ḥamdu lillāh alladhī baʻatha fīnā Rasūlahu al-Aʻẓam wa-Nabīyahu al-akmal al-afkham, ṣallá Allāh ʻalayhi wa-ʻalá ālihi wa-ṣaḥbihi wa-sallama wa-sharrafa wa-karrama wa-ʻaẓẓam. Ammā baʻd, fa-inna aṣdaq al-ḥadīth Kitāb Allāh taʻālá, wa-khayr al-hady hady Muḥammad, ṣallá Allāh ʻalayhi wa-sallam. البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. الحمد لله الذي بعث فينا رسوله الأعظم ونبيَّه الأكمل الأفخم، صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم وشرّف وكرّم وعظّم. أمّا بعد، فإنّ أصدق الحديث كتاب الله تعالى، وخير الهدي هدي محمد، صلى الله عليه وسلم. وقد قال الله تعالى في كتابه المبين، وهو أصدق القائلين: لقد جاءكم رسولٌ من أنفسكم، عزيزٌ عليه ما عنتم حريصٌ عليكم بالمؤمنين رءوفٌ رحيم فان تولوا فقل حسبي الله لا إله إلّا هو عليه توكّلت وهو ربّ العرش العظم ..."

Translation of the colophon: "This noble copy was completed on blessed Wednesday, eleven days having passed from the month of Rabīʻ Ākhir, of the year 1267 of the Hijrah of the Prophet [13 February 1851], may the best prayer and the most perfect peace be upon Him, by the hand of the poor wretched, who admits his shortcoming and inadequacy, Allāh Tamīm al-Ṣāfūrī baladan al-Shāfiʻī madhhaban al-Ashʻarī ʻaqīdatan, may God forgive him, his parents. the father of his parents, his Shaykhs, his brethren in God Almighty, he who reads it and invokes forgiveness and pardon for its copyist, and all Muslims. Praise be to God Lord of the Universe. May God pray on Our Master and Leader Muḥammad, the Illiterate Prophet, on his family, and on his companions, and grant them peace. Amen. Amen."

"Mawlid al-Muṣṭafá" (Birthday of the Chosen Prophet), also called "Mawlid al-Nabī" (Birthday of the Prophet), and "al-Mawlid al-Sharīf" (Noble Birthday), a treatise on the birthday of the Prophet Muḥammad, by Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Ḥajar al-Haythamī (approximately 1503-approximately 1566), a prolific Egyptian author and a Shāfiʻī Islamic law scholar who studied at al-Azʹhar and died in Mecca. The present treatise is summarized from the author's larger work, titled "al-Mawlid al-kabīr". Copied on Wednesday, 11 days having passed from the month of Rabīʻ Ākhir, of the year 1267 of the Hijrah (13 February 1851), by ʻAbd Allāh Tamīm al-Ṣāfūrī al-Shāfiʻī al-Ashʻarī.
