Summary
Within less than ten years, Philippe Jaroussky has become a legendary voice: his countertenor voice, pure and crystal clear sounds surreal when heard for the first time. He gained recognition for his interpretations of the baroque repertoire (Bach, Haendel, Scarlatti and above all, Vivaldi with his accomplice Jean Christophe Spinosi). However, this magical moment at the Verbier Festival in July 2009 proves his great thirst and curiosity for other repertoires. The Verbier church created the perfect intimate space for Philippe Jaroussky and Jérôme Ducros to present their selection of the most beautiful French melodies of the end of the 19th and of the beginning of the 20th century. The two young musicians are impressive in the great variety of their feelings, full of nuanced colors and poetic touches. A compelling artistic beauty.
