Biographical / Historical Note
James Mason Hoppin (1820-1906) (Yale 1840) graduated from Harvard Law School in 1842, Union Theological Seminary in 1844, and from Andover Theological Seminary in 1845. From 1861 to 1879, he was professor of homiletics at Yale; from 1879 to 1899, he was professor of art history.
Summary
