The compiler of the miscellany is unknown. The whole is apparaently entitled "Carmine", with modern signature of M. N. Jordan on front cover. Loosely inserted are two poems on 4 ff. in two conjugate pairs

Summary
Collection of verse, much of it political. Following blank f.1, ff.2r-13r (f.8v being blank) contain eleven poems in a single hand, the first signed 'John Treantt', another by 'Hodges' dated 1682/3 (f.5v) and another 'Now thanked be great god Pan' dated 1671 from Sir Philip Sidney's 'Arcadia' (f.5v). After ff.13-17, blank (with stub between ff.14 and 15), the pamphlet is inverted with a further sequence of poems starting at back, ff.25r (initial verso blank)-18r, the first poem dated 1685 and the penultimate 1683. The loose insertions comprise one poem in the main text hand dated 1669 and ornately signed 'Jo. R.', and the other in a new hand entitled 'Old Tonys caracter 1682', being another text of poem on f.20v-r of the main pamphlet; also inserted, a fragment with poem in the text hand, 'Englands triumph by sea 1691'
