Included are Whitney’s 1792 BA degree and 1795 MA degree from Yale College; two powers of attorney to Timothy Pitkin to exercise rights in Spanish and Portuguese territory connected with vending of the cotton gin; a commencement ball invitation; a check from Whitney to William Townsend; and half a document (likely a draft of a power of attorney) for vending the cotton gin in Spanish territory.
