Biographical / Historical Note
Albert G. Latham (1864-1940) was a Professor of Modern Languages at Newcastle University. He translated Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's play Faust for the Everyman's Library edition.
Adolf Ingram Frantz (1894-1986) received his B.A. degree from Tabor College in 1916; his master's degree from Stanford University in 1924; and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1931. His Yale dissertation, Half a Hundred Thralls of Faust, was published by University of North Carolina Press in 1949.
