Bank note issued by the Bank of Augusta with text on recto: President, directors, & co. of the Bank of Augusta promise to pay ten dollars on demand to [blank] or bearer. Augusta, [blank] 18[blank]. Decorated with central vignette of seated female figure with staff in her left hand, cornucopia in her right among sheafs of wheat, barrels, and piles of coins with a background of ships, canal boat, rail road, and factories. Bust portrait of Benjamin Franklin after the Martin portrait on left of bill; portrait of unidentified man on right.
