Summary
Three of Peru's best-known percussionists - Lalo Izquierdo, Cotito, and Huevito - perform for us and talk about their Afro-Peruvian heritage and culture. Shot in Peru, it has screened in seven festivals in four countries and won two prizes.
A re-editing of an earlier work (making it acceptable for national broadcast over educational television in the United States), we took three Afro-Peruvian master percussionists and had them jam and shoot the breeze. The result is magic. Full of exception high-energy performance, the documentary is supplemented by interviews, shots of the annual cajón (cajon drum) festival in Lima, and more. Written by Eve A.
