The cover is lithographed in full colors and gold, and varnished."--McLoughlin Bros.' catalogue (1899), p. 50. Cover design of Papa bear, Mama bear, and little boy bear dressed in human clothing looks like the work of Fredrika Grosvenor. Illustrations signed by Harrison Weir, A.T.
