Summary
Ana De Orbegoso (Perú, 1964), an artist who works between New York and Lima, presents different constellations of works in her exhibition, from the beginning of her production to recent times. She searches for and postulates a hinge between the subjective dimension of art and the historical, cultural and discursive contexts. She designs and shows a complex temporal arc: current globalization and feminist struggles, the tensions of identification with the female figure associated with Peruvian cultural history. Her socially engaged practice explores gender, identity, and collective memory through photography, sculpture, video, installations, and multimedia productions.
