Summary
Going beyond the headlines, take a discerning look at the escalation of violent crimes against homosexuals in America. This documentary, part of the Investigative Reports series from A & E, explores the dark, evil world of hate crimes geared specifically toward homosexuals. Narrated by Investigative Reports host and producer Bill Kurtis, this video looks at some of the more publicized anti-gay crimes, including the murder of Matthew Shepard at the University of Wyoming. In addition to interviews with victims and law enforcement officials who have worked on hate crime cases, this video shows the dark world of anti-gay organizations. The Christian Right organization promotes anti-homosexual messages around the country and even picketed Matthew Shepard's funeral. The Family Research Council also promotes messages of anti-gay themes and is considered the largest, most powerful anti-gay organization in the United States. ~ Cecilia Cygnar, Rovi.
