Summary
"Of all the producers of the very active techno scene in Hamburg, Germany, Stimming has distinguished himself with his very fine productions, embellished with sounds recorded during his travels and encounters. He never walks around without his tape recorder! Here and there we hear a coffee machine, a child's toy, coins ... He also incorporates voices, instruments like the violin which he studied when he was about ten years old, or the piano, which is at the center of his album Exodus (2018) in collaboration with the German pianist and composer Lambert. Figurehead of Diynamic, the label of Solomun and Adriano, Stimming has released five discs with experimental colors and marked by their original rhythms, with a house slant but always a little offbeat, giving an organic and living feel to the music. He also refuses to work with a computer, preferring to use electronic machines as real instruments. This is the case for this exceptional live concert captured by Cercle at the Cordouan Lighthouse, nicknamed ""Versailles of the Sea."" 223 feet high, it has been guiding sailors in the Gironde estuary since the 16th century and remains the only one in the world still manned by guards. But the guardian angel of the day is Stimming, who guides us in deep water. As he confides: ""I am not afraid to show my emotions, nor to include them in my music."" And we are happy to be able to share them with him. Etienne Geremia".
