"The magnificent alpine landscapes of the Cosmo Jazz Festival provide the setting for this concert by Elina Duni, the Albanian singer whose Swiss quartet is comprised of Colin Vallon (piano), Patrice Moret (double bass) and Norbert Pfamatter (drums). The year is 2011 and, not yet signed with ECM, she was in the middle of touring her second album, Lume, Lume (Meta Records) on which she continued her journey between jazz ambitions and an attachment to the folklore of South-East Europe. Sometimes voluptuous or evanescent on ancient melodies, but capable of improvising with great formal freedom alongside Collin Vallon, Elina Duni carried her interpretation, with the blessing of Mont Blanc, all the way to the summit.
