Wa-al-ṣalāh wa-al-salām ʻalá Sayyidinā Muḥammad Khātim al-Nabīyīn wa-al-Mursalīn, wa-ʻalá ālihi wa-ṣaḥbihi ajmaʻīn, wa-al-tābiʻīn lahum bi-iḥsānin ilá Yawm al-Dīn. البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. الحمد لله ربّ العالمين. والصلاة والسلام على سيدنا محمد خاتم النبيين والمرسلين، وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين، والتابعين لهم بإحسانٍ إلى يوم الدين. أمّا بعد، فقد عرض علي سؤالٌ صورته: ما تقول السادة العلماء، رضي الله تعالى عنهم ونفع بعلومهم المسلمين في الدنيا والآخرة، في الأحاديث الواردة قبل نزول الوحي من حين صغره، صلى الله عليه وسلم، إلى الأربعين، حتى الذي نطق به مع كفّار قريش وغيرهم ..."

Fragment of "Risālah fī al-Aḥādīth al-wāridah ʻan al-Nabī qabla al-nubūwah wa-baʻdahā", being answers to theological questions, quoting Ḥadīths concerning the life of the Prophet Muḥammad, before and during His mission, by Aḥmad ibn ʻAbd al-Laṭīf al-Bishbīshī (1631 or 1632-1684 or 1685), an Egyptian Shāfiʻī faqīh, born and died in the village of Bishbīsh, hence his nisbah (affiliation), studied in his village and in Cairo, and taught at a-Azhar and in Mecca (See: Ziriklī 1:155; Brockelmann, G II:322, S II:444). Name of copyist and place and date of copying not mentioned, probably from the 18th century.
