Summary
50 years after the first edition of the book of visual poetry (Antofagasta, Chile : Ediciones Mimbre, 1972) by Chilean poet and artist Guillermo Deisler, this new edition -created in constant dialogue with Deisler's family- once again makes accessible a publication that was practically impossible to find. The original book is an anthology of the visual poetry of the moment, in the same year Deisler initiates experimentations in both techniques and ways of signifying the poem. The publication begins with a statement by the author himself regarding the way in which the poetic text is configured. Deisler, in addition to giving clear instructions for his poetic propositions, also includes part of the implements to carry them out: a kraft paper bag, blank pages, and even a postal envelope to send the results. As Deisler himself states in his opening statement, "the reader becomes a poet and a poem through gesture".
