Summary
The manuscript consists of autograph notes and drafts, letters, copies, and translations, mostly in Italian, with some in English and French, concerning contemporary political, intellectual, and social life in England, Holland, Denmark, and Poland. The observations, many of which must relate to Magalotti's travels, are of many sorts - the English section, for example, contains Memorie dell'ingresso del Duc d'Oranges in Inghilterra e dell'Uscita del Re Giacomo, sketches of courtiers, scientists, persone di spirito, poeti famosi, le donne piu belle di Londra, and much other material. The Dutch section relates mainly to trade but includes a short account of collections of art and antiquities.
