Summary
Sweden alone is the world's third biggest export of music, and for such a small area, this is kind of incredible. Since the 1970s, Scandinavia has had this incredible propensity to pump out catchy sing-along Pop songs; far greater than any other European country; singing in English Scandi-Pop is a very specific type of Pop music. It merges the European schlager, which is a sort of European folk music, which has a very melancholy, undertone to it, with bright, breezy, upbeat Pop. Featuring clips Abba, A-Ha, Ace Of Base, Roxette. Journalists/critics include Will Hodgkinson (The Times), Sunta Templeton (Radio X), John Aizlewood (Evening Standard).
