Part one in a series of manuscripts (NLS MSS. 2903-4). Includes letters, chiefly addressed to Allan Ramsay's daughter Amelia, wife of Major-General Sir Archibald Campbell of Inverneil, 1772-1810, n.d.; to his son, General John Ramsay of Kinkell, 1795-1845, n.d.; and to his wife's nephew, Sir John Archibald Murray, Lord Murray, 1807-59, n.d. Lady Campbell's correspondents include society women, whose letters contain much London and Madras gossip, and various Campbells, some in the East Indies.
