Summary
The papers consist of private letters from Stuart to Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, and to his friend William Dundas, the latter's nephew, with extensive enclosures, largely minutes and reports by Stuart, and copies of official correspondence and dispatches. The private correspondence contains particular detail on fiscal policies and the internal politics of the Bengal administration.
