Summary
Description: The US Export Administration Act which the Administration imposes export controls and in particular controls on the export of American technology to the Soviet Union. The Administration is seeking a new Act which would give them complete discretion on how to impose controls. Congressional Record from the Senate on the Trade Reform Act. Report on the Finance Committees continued action on the Trade Reform Bill led by Chairman of the Committee on Finance the Honourable Russell B. Long who outlined their decisions on: Tariff Commission, Terms of Office, Tabulation of Voting Records, Budget, Enforcement of Subpoenas, Retaliation Authority, Commercial Services, Application against selected countries only and relief from injury caused by import competition.
