Provenance
Sold at Strawberry Hill sale, day i, lot 40, to Longman for Charles Abney Hastings, bought, 11/- (see his long pencilled note on the fly-leaf misattributing the signature on the flyleaf to Horace's uncle, brother of Robert Walpole); later owned by the late William Zimmerman, Jr., of Washington, D.C.
Horace Walpole's copy with his autograph (1731), a note, and many marginal markings in pencil. Corrections of errata may be in his hand.
