Provenance
Horace Walpole's copy with his bookplate, notes, clipping. Interchanged at the 1842 sale, it belongs with Lord Derby's set of Anecdotes 1762, but was sold in lot 140 with Anecdotes 1765 to R. Sneyd, whose arms are stamped on the covers. Later owned by R.W. Chapman, who recognized the substitution.
