This file consists of four sets of data files containing detailed tabulations of the nation's population and housing characteristics. The files contain sample data inflated to represent the total U.S. population. The files also contain 100 percent counts and unweighted sample counts of persons and housing units. This series is comprised of STF/A-STF/D. All the files have identical tables and format except for the omission of 100 percent counts for population and housing in STF3/B.
STF/A-B and STF/D have 51 separate files: one for each state, and the District of Columbia. STF/C consists of one nationwide data file containing information about all states. All the files in STF 3 series are identical in record format, with substantive variables organized in the form of 150 tables, plus standard geographic identification variables.
Population items tabulated for each person include demographic data and information on schooling, ethnicity, labor force status, children, and details about occupation and income. Housing items include data on size and condition of the housing unit as well as information on value, age, water, sewage and heating, vehicles, and monthly owner costs. Each file provides different geographic coverage.
