Notes

A collection of maps by various geographers including Ortelius and Lhuyd, Accuratissima orbis antiqui delineatio was first published without text in 1652. In 1653 the first ed. with text by Georg Horn appeared. The maps and text were later published as part of vol. 6, first published 1658, of the Mercator-Hondius-Jansson Novus atlas. After a final ed. brought out by J. Janssonius van Waesberghe, Pieter de Hondt published the work with additional maps in 1740 and 1741, with text in Latin, English, and French respectively. Cf.
