'Mechanick exercises' was issued monthly in 14 parts beginning in 1677 and ending in 1680. Describes the materials, tools, operations and terms of smithing, house carpentry, and turnery. In 1700, nine years after Joseph Moxon's death, a new number on bricklayers' work was issued, presumably by his son, James. This was added to a third edition, published in the same year. Cf. Harris.
