Manuscript, written in ink and bound in cloth, was donated to Yale Medical by Dr. Herbert Thoms on 18 November 1941, his letter of transmittal is tipped onto first leaf. Materials dated 1864-1872 on final ca. 200 pages are case studies from the New York State Inebriate Asylum at Binghamton, wherein Dr. Hill was resident physician then superintendent.
