Summary
The basic purpose of the National health interview survey is to obtain information about the amount and distribution of illness, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments. and the kind of health services people receive. Each year health information is gathered for every civilian person in about 50,000 sample households. Adult residents, found at home at the time of the call, provide the information required.
