Summary
The Party's construction foreman, loved and supported by his workers, is king of the building site. When the new Party Secretary and a young female engineer arrive, the foreman changes his view of life. The hero's swaggering pose is reminiscent of Hollywood's Western heroes. After its release in 1966, the film was banned for 25 years by East Germany.
