Constitutes an alphabetical author/title index, compiled from Wiener Library catalog cards, to the Wiener Library collection on microfilm, which represents those books and pamphlets from the collection not already otherwise available in the U.S., and those periodicals not found in at least three major U.S. libraries. Filmed under a grant, prior to removal of the Library from London to Tel Aviv, microfilm reels were apportioned between the Leo Baeck Institute, New York and the New York Public Library. Items in the index marked "L" are at the Leo Baeck Institute; those marked "N" are at the New York Public Library.

Entries for books and pamphlets include numerical and alpha-numerical codes (i.e. 118/F685). The first element (118) indicates shelving location for material in its original form prior to filming, and may be ignored. The second element (F685) corresponds to the Wiener Library classification scheme (A-Z) and is the location symbol needed to call for film. Entries under "Hitler" include books and pamphlets by and about Adolf Hitler.

Entries for periodicals are incomplete. Errors and discrepancies have been found. Entries include item number (i.e. IIB13) and reel number (i.e P113) and listing of holdings of each title. Listing of holdings precedes each title on film.
