Manuscript, in a single hand, of a collection of about 22 entries of verse and 16 entries of prose, all on religious subjects. The verses include poems by Isaac Watts, as well as several from Charles Wesley's Hymn Book and several hymns and religious poems for children. Two poems, For a little child in sickness and The pet lamb are by Jane Crewdson; other poem titles include Heaven; Vespers; and Desiring supreme love to Christ. The poems are followed by entries in prose, including extracts from Charles Rollins' Ancient History; Richard Watson's Biblical dictionary; Ralph Wardlaw's Sermons; William Romaine's Prayer before reading the word of God; and Directions to tract visiters from the annual report of the New York City Tract Society. The manuscript also contains one non-religious piece, an extract on biology from Peter Mark Roget's Animal and vegetable physiology.
