Summary
Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, of a collection of several dozen religious, philosophical, and moral observations. The writer examines such topics as how to live well; faith in God; the nature of angels; omnipotence of the Almighty; the creation of air; and the philosophy of colors. In a treatise on whether animals have souls, the author writes that animals' spirits are "made of the naturall spirit in the stomacke," which "is like a purse in respect of its strings, for first it hath strings from the mouth to pull the meate to it."
