Summary
Manuscript, in a single hand, of a chronological journal of proceedings in the House of Commons, including bills, resolutions, committee appointments, and orders of the house. Many of the entries consist of petitions, including one from wine merchants concerning impositions; one concerning the billeting of soldiers; and another against recusants. The volume also records the formation of numerous committees, including one to consider martial law and another to consider grievances concerning the merchants of the Company of Greenland; and the passing of acts, including one for fishing and navigation in Newfoundland, New England, and Virginia, and another for an oath of allegiance.
