Summary
Two albums relating to the investigation of the "Scots Plot" of 1703/4. The first volume contains notes relating to the examinations of Colin Campbell, Sir John Maclean, and Sir Thomas Stuart; and three of the so-called "Gibberish letters" (written in some sort of word substitution code). One is addressed to "My Ld. 7" by "Fugillisimo"; one to Philotheus from "V.M."; and one from Philotheus "To the late Queen of Saint Germain." The second volume contains copies of Sir John Maclean's declaration to the investigating committee, the declaration by the Duke of Queensberry, and an "Account of the Conspiracy in Scotland".
